”Onneksi niin…” Jacob totesi lastensa leikkiä seuraillen. Tuon tytön äiti kuulosti kauhistuttavan vastuuttomalta, alkoholistin kasvattama koira - etenkin yksilö jossa oli rottwaileria – olisi hyvin voinut olla aggressiivinen tai muuten epätasapainoinen, ja hän toivoi tämän parantaneen tapojaan myöhemmin, mutta ei kokenut paikakseen kritisoida täysin vieraiden kaukaisia valintoja.
”Onneksi myös Tenorille. Se vaikuttaa hyvin onnelliselta, toisin kuin olisi jos olisi jäänyt alkoholistin huostaan. Hauska nimi sillä, muuten. Miten päädyitte siihen?” hän jutteli, kääntäen katseensa tyttöön vierellään. Hän arveli sen liittyvän ison koiran kumeaan haukkuun, mutta syy voisi aina olla jotain aivan muutakin. "Vai oliko se hänen nimensä jo teille adoptoidessa?"
