Claytoneiden jutellessa keskenään Jacob neuvoi lapsiaan miten syödä tacojaan mahdollisimman siististi sillä viime kerrasta oli aikaa eikä Hunterkaan ehkä muistaisi parasta tekniikkaa. Silti, hän oli varma että ainakin viisivuotiaansa ruokalappu olisi kaikkea muuta kuin valkoinen aterian päätteeksi.
Hunter tarkkaili hetken aikaa vanhuksia näiden puhuessa lapsenlapselleen, ja puhui itse näiden jälkeen.
"Hei, rouva Clayton," poika aloitti kohteliaaseen sävyyn, katse naisessa samalla kun hän sormeili täyttämäänsä tacoa lautasellaan. "Uskoitko sinä taikuuteen edes lapsena?"
Jacob katsahti poikaa, mutta ei vielä sanonut mitään vaan jatkoi tyttärensä avustusta. Hän tiesi poikansa sosiaalisen älykkyyden olevan tätä parempi mutta myös ettei tenava ollut koskaan ennen tavannut henkilöä joka suhtautui taikuuteen noin kielteisesti ja kaipaavan jonkinlaista selitystä, joten mies koki että oli hyväksyttävää antaa pojan kysyä moista vaikka aihe olikin toiselle epämukava.
