RE: Making magical memories - Jacob King - 02-04-2024

Hunter kept circleing around them, an amused smirk on his face but managed to hold back laughter. He did not recall having that much trouble with balance when he first mounted a broomstick, not even thinking about that he had been a toddler then and therefor could not possibly rememebr. Jacob reckoned the problem wasn't all about the first-time effort.
"If it feels like that I suspect the Cushioning Charm's effect has faded over the decades. You ought to be feeling a firm and comfortable seat similar to a bicycle seat to provide balance. Let's see," the man pointed his wand at the broom, making sure to point at the back end of the broom and not at the boy. A white beam of light shot out of the wand's tip and disappeared as it hit the broom. Jacob had practised the Cushioning Charm well since he decided to introduce his son to broomstick flying all those years ago.
"Any difference?"
After another thought he added, "Those foot handle-bars position can be changed. The way they are now is good for racing but as we are not doing that today, let's try something else. Push them down with your feet. They won't go all the way down but enough so you can rest the soles of your feet on them somewhat well. It also helps if the soles of your shoes don't happen to be too smooth."
