RE: A whole new world - Phoenix Levon Scamander - 03-20-2020

The man said it was fine because he was a globe trotting business mand would surely find some place in the States that sold such unusual pets, thanked the boy and hurried off. For a moment more Phoenix watched after him but as there was nothing more he could do about it he just gave his truly unusual pet a quick cuddle and turned his attention back to Sam.
"Well..." the boy pondered for a moment with a slight frown, he got the impression this father would be a diffocult case. Thisshould be taken one step at a time. "Can you get him to come here, with you, next Sunday?" he suggested. "I could bring my mum and dad or one of them so they would meet. What does your dad do for living?"

Sam wasn't sorry when the man left. The look on Sam's face was showing that quite clearly.
"Sure I could. No problem," he said confidently. When he wanted to come somewhere dad rarely said no, except when he was busy with work. That rarely happened on Sundays though.
"Dad owns a factory for motorbike parts. Or something like that," he shrugged. It was something he knew very little about and to be perfectly honest he didn't really care for it. Motorbikes were cool but not quite something Sam had interest in.
"If I told him that I want him to meet my new friend it should work fine," he confirmed

Olay, so maybe try and get at least mum here. She's a business owner too. But then again it's a completely different kind of business and perhaps adults didn't like to talk about work on Sundays? He certainly didn't care to think about school on either weekend day. But in the end, it could be enough that they met and Sam's dad would see they're decent people. The boy was snapped out of his thoughts by Gibson gnawing on his thumb with an increasing force whilst holding it with his tiny paws. It didn't really hurt yet but Phoenix pulled his hand away and gently pushed the niffler on the ground, first making sure he had a good grip on the harness leash.
"Okay, how about at around two? Oh, um..." he suggested and then took a pencil and a torn piece of paper that used to be a part of school booklet, and wrote his first name an phone number on it. "Here's my number in case you can't make it, " he said as he held it out to Sam. "Can you give me yours so I can call too if something comes up?"

"Yeah, sure, sounds fine," he said. That shouldn't really be a problem.
"Oh... phone number! That's a good idea," he took the slip of paper and put it in his pocket. Searching all other pockets for a piece of paper he finally found something that probably was some sort of ticket? Whatever it was it spent too much time in his pocket to be still readable.
"Can I borrow the pen? I don't have any..." he asked and once he got it he wrote their number on the ticket.
"Here goes," he gave him the number.

Phoenix looked around while he put everything away.
"Hey, would you like ice cream or soda?" he asked, pointing at an outdoor ice cream stand that had been brought to the park and opened a few days earlier. "I can treat you," he added, in case Sam didn't have any money with him or didn't want to blow it on treats like that. Phoenix didn't wishto part ways so soon, now that he finally had met a kid he could talk magic with. There was so little time to hang out with wizarding friends during school terms. And it wasn't quite the same as discussing things with someone to whom they were new. Besides, giving Gibson so many treats made him crave something too. He moved his Garfield coin purse from the backbag to his jeans' pocket and stood up.

Getting treated to an ice-cream by a wizard sounded really strange but it was an ice-cream.
"Sure, if you don't mind I would love to," he said. Sam had a few coins in a piggy-bank in his room, but he rarely had any money on his person. Hopefully, it wasn't that late since Sam did get lost in time every now and then and he really didn't want his dad to be worried. Then again he knew where Sam was so if Sam was late he would probably just come for him.
"I'll treat you next time," he felt like he should add that.
